Sabres at Penguins preview: Kane possibly out

The Sabres finish their back-to-back series tonight in Pittsburgh, but may have to do so without Evander Kane.

Game #77

Pittsburgh Penguins (42-25-8)

Two Questions

1. Will Evander Kane play tonight?

Kane suffered an upper body injury in last night's game against the Red Wings, and had to leave midway through. Coach Dan Bylsma said after the game, "I doubt we'll see him in [Tuesday's] game, but it's a little early to tell at this point." With no morning skate today we'll find out this afternoon when Bylsma speaks with the media.

2. Who will be in net tonight?

Tonight would be Chad Johnson's sixth consecutive start, but Dan Bylsma yesterday would not say who would start in net tonight in Pittsburgh. With both Robin Lehner and Jason Kasdorf still injured, the Sabres only other option would be Nathan Lieuwen. Should they give him the go, it would be Lieuwen's first NHL start of the year.
