Game #75
Buffalo Sabres (20-46-8) at
Colorado Avalanche (34-28-12)
Three Questions
1. Will the Sabres be able to muster up any semblance of an offense without Tyler Ennis?
The two players that have carried the Sabres to more wins and overtimes over the past two months than anyone else have been Tyler Ennis and Rasmus Ristolainen. With Ennis out (and Tim Schaller back in) will the Sabres have enough ammunition to be any kind of a threat to the Avs?
2. Who will be the sixth defenseman?
After Friday’s optional practice, Nolan said that Nikita Zadorov could sit tonight in favor of Tyson Strachan. Zadorov had to wait a loooong time to finally get on the ice in the second period versus the Coyotes, and played less than ten minutes overall.
3. Where will Buffalo stand in the standings at the end of the night?
Edmonton’s win last night moved them nine points ahead of the Sabres, while Phoenix plays Pittsburgh at 1pm today. Every Coyotes point and Sabres points lost moves Buffalo closer to 30th, and with eight games to go, we’ll be keeping a close eye on the scoreboard tonight.
