Rochester Americans Release Their 2011-2012 Season Schedule

On the heels of the NHL announcing their national television schedule, the AHL released their full regular season schedule today and it has some interesting highlights for the Rochester Americans. For those that want to see the full schedule, you can find it here.

The Amerks will open the season on the road on October 8th against the Hamilton Bulldogs. The season opener probably won’t see a full contingent of players due to the fact that the Sabres will probably keep a couple extra players when they head to Europe. They open the season at home five days later against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to officially open the doors of Sabres University.

The majority of the Americans games in Rochester will be played on Friday nights, with 17 of the 38 home games being played on that day. There will be seven Saturday home games and five Sunday home games as well.

One of the biggest games could be the March 24th matchup against the Syracuse Crunch. The Crunch are looking to try and host that game in the Carrier Dome and are looking for about 25,000 people to show for the game. The Crunch are veterans when it comes to hosting outdoor games as they hosted one at the New York State Fairgrounds against the Binghamton Senators.

Season tickets for the Americans are still available and priced at $10 per game and individual tickets range from $11-18 based on the night of the week and the section.
