Recap: Sabres win their second straight in a tight game against the Rangers
Sabres win their second straight and first at home this season against the Rangers
Sorry about the delay in posting this. We had a miscommunication in scheduling.
Score: Sabres 3 | Capitals 2
Shots: BUF - 24 | NYR - 30
Sabres Goals: Dylan Cozens (PPG) (2), Tobias Rieder (1), and Jack Eichel (PPG) (1)
Rangers Goals: Chris Kreider (2) and K’Andre Miller (1)
Plus 1 | Cozens
After sitting down a game for scheduled rest, Dylan Cozens picked right up where he left off in his last game. He scored his second of the game on the power play. This was arguably his best game of the season. The Staal line with Cozens and Olofsson kept heading in the right direction. If the Sabres can get them going, lookout.
Plus 2 | Eichel
Jack Eichel finally broke through scoring his first of the season and the game-winner. He along with a few others has been dealing with some poor puck luck. Hopefully, this goal gets him going and allows that line to finally start putting the puck in the net by capitalizing on their great chances.
Plus 3 | Ullmark
Linus Ullmark has gone through a lot recently with the loss of his father. He let up another “soft” goal on the Rangers' second of the game off the stick of K’Andre Miller. Like we saw against the Capitals, he was there at the end of the game to come up big.
The Sabres were thoroughly outplayed in the final 10 minutes of the third period and he made some big saves to keep the lead and get his club the two points.
