The Buffalo Sabres played one of their best periods of the season in the first frame, and then quickly followed it up with one of their worst in the second. The game ended up going to the shootout where the Sabres eventually lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins after an up-and-down 4-4 game.
This Jekyll-and-Hyde kind of performance doesn’t make it any easier to judge the players and rate them, but give it your best shot.
