USA defeats Slovakia 7-1

Jonathan Quick made only 22 saves while Paul Stastny scored twice and Phil Kessel added three points to the rout.

Canada survives 3-1 against Norway

The Canucks got some clutch scoring from defensemen Shea Weber and Drew Doughty to get past their first game versus Norway.

Russia defeats Slovenia 5-2

Alex Ovechkin and Valeri Nichushkin both scored for host Russia, who began their gold-or-bust run with a solid showing.

Finland beats Austria 8-4

The Michaels Grabner and Granlund both scored for the Finns, while Jarkko Immonen added two. Teemu Selanne left with an upper body injury, but isn’t expected to miss any time.

Sweden* vs. Switzerland

Sweden will be without their captain Henrik Zetterberg for the rest of the tournament thanks to a herniated disk in his back.

12:00pm ET – USA

Canada didn’t exactly dominate yesterday against Norway, but they’ll get another chance to assert themselves over and Austrian team that was blown out one day ago.

Finland vs. Norway

12:00pm ET – MSNBC

The favored Canadian team gets it first chance to show the world what they can do versus Norway. Everybody else gets their first chance to make fun of/praise the favored Canadian team depending on the result.
