NHL Releases 2021 Season Schedule

The Buffalo Sabres will open the 2021 NHL season at KeyBank Center on Thursday, January 14 against the Washington Capitals, the beginning of the league’s 56-game season.

The January 14 game will be the first of two consecutive games against the Capitals, both in Buffalo. Most of the 2021 season will see the Sabres face their East Division opponents in two-game sets, with both games either home or on the road.

Other highlights of the schedule include a three-game set against the New Jersey Devils April 6-9, with the first game on the road and the other two at home. The Sabres will also face the Boston Bruins four times in a span of just over a week, from April 22-May 3, with a pair of games against the Rangers also slipped in there.

The Sabres finish the regular season with a road trip to Pittsburgh for a pair of games against the Penguins on May 6 and 8.

It’ll be a busy schedule, with games crammed into a shorter time frame. For instance, the Sabres open with four games in five games, including two at home against Washington and two on the road against the Flyers. Overall, they’ll play 10 games in 17 days in the month of January alone.

Here’s the full schedule. All game times are TBA.
