We’re excited here at Die By The Blade to give you another chance to show off your hockey smarts! Based on the Buffalo Sabres Pick n’ Mix we started during the regular season, here now is the brand new Playoffs Pick n’ Mix, where you get to pick on various categories for all the playoff series starting today!

Here are the eight series that comprise the first round of the playoffs.
Apr 12-26 – E#1 New York Rangers vs E#8 Ottawa Senators
Apr 12-25 – E#2 Boston Bruins vs E#7 Washington Capitals
Apr 13-26 – E#3 Florida Panthers vs E#6 New Jersey Devils
Apr 11-24 – E#4 Pittsburgh Penguins vs E#5 Philadelphia Flyers
Apr 11-26 – W#1 Vancouver Canucks vs W#8 Los Angeles Kings
Apr 12-25 – W#2 St. Louis Blues vs W#7 San Jose Sharks
Apr 12-25 – W#3 Phoenix Coyotes vs W#6 Chicago Blackhawks
Apr 11-24 – W#4 Nashville Predators vs W#5 Detroit Red Wings
For each of these series, we will need you to pick –
Series winner [winner] – give the team name
Series score [score] – score of the best-of-seven series
Series top goal scorer [goals] – give the player’s last name
Series top assists scorer [assists] – give the player’s last name
Team with most PIMs [PIMs] – give the team name
Scoring is simple, one point for each correct answer per series, a max of five per series. In case there is more than one answer on any category, all correct answers will receive points. You can submit your picks in the comments section of this post, in the form of (for example) –
Rangers 4-1 Gaborik Anisimov Senators
Capitals 4-2 Ovechkin Bergeron Bruins
.. etc
Sounds easy enough right? We’ll keep updating the scoring spreadsheet as the series progress, and for the Stanley Cup Finals, we will be asking you to predict the cumulative score and the score of the series-clinching game as the tiebreaker.. more on that later.
