NHL Draft 2016: Sabres take LW Brett Murray at #99 in Round 4

With the 99th pick in the 2016 NHL Draft, the Buffalo Sabres have taken left winger Brett Murray from the CCHL.

Murray, ranked #83 among North American skaters, scored 14 goals and 32 assists this year for the Carleton Place Canadians of the CCHL. He is committed to Penn State next year, and has met Terry Pegula, the man who donated lots of money to his future school.

Murray described himself as a power forward, who uses his size and skill to open up space on the ice for his teammates. He’s listed as 6’5”, 212 lbs, giving him some significant size to work with on the ice.

The Sabres have no taken four forwards in their first five picks, with five more still to come.
