NHL Draft 2016: Sabres take hometown defenseman Austin Osmanski at #189

The Buffalo Sabres pick Austin Osmanski in 7th round, an East Aurora native.

With their 189th pick of the 2016 NHL Draft, the Buffalo Sabres picked up their fourth defenseman of the weekend with Austin Osmanski from the OHL.

Osmanski, a left handed dman who turned 18 a couple of months ago, is a local boy from East Aurora who the organization is already familiar with since his time in the Sabres U16 and U18 teams. He spent last season with the Mississauga Steelheads, scoring 2 goals and 8 assists with a +19 in 65 games.

Osmanski came into the season with plenty of hype behind him, with NHL Central Scouting touting him as a prospect to watch for this years draft.
