Letter from the Editor: Time for the Next Chapter

September would have been four years for me as the Managing Editor of Die By the Blade. However, as you can probably assume by the headline, that time is coming to an end. I’ve decided it’s time to step away as the Managing Editor of this site.

As most of you know, I launched my own site last year during the pandemic. I feel that it’s time to devote all of my attention to that and allow someone else to step into the role of managing this awesome site.

I truly can’t put into words how much I enjoyed my team running this site and working with this team. Melissa, Ryan, Calvin, and Anthony have been with me from day one. I can’t thank them enough for all the time and effort they put into producing content over the last four years. This is where you could say I made a name for myself as a Sabres content producer. I’ll be forever thankful for that opportunity.

The community here is incredible. Every day wasn’t all jujus and rainbows but I enjoyed all of our interactions. It would have been nice to have a playoff year at least once. This community is dedicated and passionate. I can’t wait for the day that this fanbase gets to talk about a winner again.

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Steph Driver. She has been an incredible leader and friend to me. The things that she does behind the scenes for the NHL side of SB Nation are amazing. SB Nation’s hockey brand is in great hands under Steph.

I’ll still be around until the end of August. At that point, Melissa Burgess will take over as the new site manager. I’ll still pop in from time to time and I’ll always support this site.

Thank you for an amazing four years.
