Lehner, Eichel and Ristolainen will represent Sabres at World Cup of Hockey

Three Sabres will play when the World Cup of Hockey returns this September.

One Sabre was added to World Cup of Hockey Rosters today, as Robin Lehner (Sweden) joined Jack Eichel (Team North America) and Rasmus Ristolainen (Finland), who were added in the first round of roster selections.

Lehner is likely in a battle with Jacob Markstrom for the right to backup Henrik Lundqvist, while Ristolainen and Eichel will be key contributors for their respective rosters.

The most surprising omissions from rosters were Ryan O'Reilly and Sam Reinhart. The Canadians chose Joe Thornton, Brad Marchand, Matt Duchene and Claude Giroux over O'Reilly, while Team North America chose Jonathan Drouin, Auston Matthews, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Mark Scheifele over Reinhart.
