The Buffalo Sabres’ big signing from the 2016 NHL Free Agency period Kyle Okposo will wear ‘21’ in the upcoming season. The number 21 has been idle for about a year since Drew Stafford was traded away to the Winnipeg Jets.
Some famous alumni to have donned the same number include Christian Ruuttu (1987-92), JF Sauve (1982-83), Dave Schultz (1979-80) and Brian Spencer (1974-77).
#21.

Here’s a quick bio of Okposo, in the style of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft prospects selected a week ago.
KYLE OKPOSO, RW (USA; NHL - New York Islanders)
2006 Rd 1, Pick 7, #7 overall - 6’0”, 216lbs; DOB - 1988-04-16
One of the big targets available during the 2016 NHL Free Agency, Okposo has a forward’s eye for goal and the big body to get into the corners and fight for the puck. His skating ability tends to get overlooked because of his size, but he has an excellent stride to go with a booming shot.
There are some durability concerns that go with players who play a physical game, and his defensive work ethic could use some improvement too. Expect plenty of coaching from Dan Bylsma as he attempts to turn him into more of a two-way forward.
