Jimmy Vesey will meet with the Buffalo Sabres

Will he sign? Won’t he sign?

The agent of free agent Jimmy Vesey has said that the player’s representatives will meet with the Buffalo Sabres after all. This represents a change of direction from his management after they had originally said that Vesey would still go to free agency and would not sign before August 15th when the Sabres had traded for his rights a couple of weeks ago.

In an email to the Buffalo News, Peter Fish was reported to have said -

“We hope to meet with Buffalo in the near future and are open to anything.”

Vesey was drafted by the Nashville Predators in the third round (66th overall), of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. The left winger won the Hobey Baker Award, given to the best NCAA collegiate player, last season for Harvard University.

Sabres center Jack Eichel is long-time friends with Vesey, and the two have been teammates in a Massachusetts-area summer league.
