Just something I found interesting. We get a quick insight into the type of stats Babcock keeps tabs on like zone entries and denials, which seems like a stark contrast to the Sabres usual dump and chase. I'm not convinced either way yet if that's Dan's preference for play style or simply due to talent on the back end. I think it's possible that Dan wants to play the quick stretch pass, transition game style that the Rangers do, but we lack the blue line talent to do so and this is what we end up with. But I also do recall an interview where he said he examined the physical toll on opposing defensemen when they have to turn and skate back b/c of dump and chase vs getting to glide backwards against the rush.
My Brothers team won the AIHL this past weekend and their coach posted a cool photo of one of the plaques on the trophy.
.. when Buffalonians get rid of their Bills gear and rediscover the Sabres.
The next image in our series of "Tim Murray Doesn't Want To Be Here" features the Sabres GM awkwardly wearing a polo at the NHL GM meetings in Florida.
