Power Play is a big need to pursue playoffs

With so many ifs, IMO the power play is key to end the missing playoff streak.  One factor hidden in a good power player is your opponents respect.  Common sense tells you that aggresiveness  of your opponent is affected.  If I was GM, I bring in old power play guru to improve it.  I’m far from a guru just a fan that knows  how important it is.  Though here is my 2 cents.  Three players must be on first unit. Thompson, Dahlin and Power. Tage on the left flank is a no brainer.  Owen sees the ice with exceptional ability and would Quarterback from the blue line. Though his shot still has away to go it is a work in progess. Sabres do not have a forward who is a true puck mover. This is why Dahlin is their best fit at right flank.  Like Tampa Bay if he works out at right flank you have two players able to move the puck to Tage. Takes exceptional player to move puck from right flank to left flank.  Tuch and Greenway would be on my first unit, also. Without a doubt their size is important. Tuch has all the skill but needs to be nastier in front of net. Greenway is a good puck retriever and will play in front of net. I am sure we will not see anything like this power play unit. Though I’m also sure most fans will agree we can not like last year keep rolling out the same philospophy. Yes, you build around Tage’s shot but need a creative player like Dahlin to make right side more involved.  Last year it was one dimensional shooter. Dahlin can shoot and improvise. Change is needed to make it respectable or even good.
