Eight Beauts top NWHL ASG Skills Competition lineup

The fourth annual NWHL All-Star Weekend is just days away, and the league has announced its skills competition lineups.

Eight Buffalo Beauts will take part in the competition on Saturday, February 9 at Nashville’s Ford Center. The event will be streamed live on Twitter beginning at 5pm CST.

Lisa Chesson will represent Team Stecklein in the Fastest Skater race. If the league’s press release is listing the competitors in order of matchup, Chesson will skate against Kendall Coyne-Schofield, who is…very, very fast.

The best duo in professional hockey will face each other in the fastest goalie competition, when Shannon Szabados and Nicole Hensley line up to decide the quickest keeper in the Queen City.

Hayley Scamurra and Savannah Harmon will go head-to-head with Beauts teammates Dani Cameranesi and Emily Pfalzer in the shooting accuracy competition, representing Team Szabados and Team Stecklein, respectively.

Defender Blake Bolden will seek to defend her hardest shot title, which she gained in the league’s second All-Star Game in 2017. Her current highwater mark was 87 MPH; last year’s hardest shot clocked at 81 MPH.

All skaters will take part in the final event of the evening, the shootout relay.

Buffalo fans can tune in to Twitter to watch their favorite players take part in the sold out skills competition. Tickets are still available for Sunday’s All Star Game, and ticketholders from the morning’s Nashville Predators vs. St. Louis Blues are invited to stay for the marquee matinee matchup.
