Here’s an open thread for discussing all matters Buffalo Sabres and NHL related for this week. Of course, you can talk about anything else you like too.
We’re down to four teams left now in the NHL Playoffs, and it’s definitely not what we were expecting when the postseason started.
The playoffs continue and already we’ve had some interesting results.
(3) Tampa Bay Lightning 3-3 (4) New York Islanders
So the defending champions raised their game when it mattered and are in the equivalent of the Conference Finals, and they’ll take on a scrappy Islanders team that outduelled a gritty Bruins to get to the final four.
(2) Vegas Golden Knights 2-3 (4) Montreal Canadiens
I don’t like the Habs any more than the next Sabres fan, but they’re such a feel-good story right now, carried by Carey Price and four balanced lines. However, they come up now against a determined Vegas side that has come through what might be the toughest series of the playoffs so far.
