DBTB Open Thread – Week of 3/22 | Losing streak record under threat?

Here’s an open thread for discussing all matters Buffalo Sabres and NHL related for this week. Of course, you can talk about anything else you like too.

So the coaching change has finally happened with Ralph Krueger getting shown the door last week. Don Granato has taken over on an interim basis, with Matt Ellis and Dan Girardi as his assistants, and they have already presided over one loss at home to the Boston Bruins, making it twelve in a row now.

The Pittsburgh Penguins hold the record at 18 games in the 2003-04 season. The Sabres worst is 14, from the 2014-15 tank years.

With last Saturday’s game against the Bruins postponed for COVID protocol, the Sabres are back in action tonight away at the New York Rangers. Then they go to Pittsburgh for a doubleheader followed by a flight to Boston on Saturday.

Feel free to add any links to developing news items as the week goes on in the comments below.
