The Buffalo Sabres beefed up their defense and bottom six last night, but General Manager Jarmo Kekäläinen still had one move saved up for today. The Sabres went back to the Winnipeg Jets one more time with the addition of forward Tanner Pearson for a seventh-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft.
The 33-year-old winger has seven goals and six assists for 13 points with the Jets in 52 games this season. The veteran forward has played for the Los Angeles Kings, Vancouver Canucks, Vegas Golden Knights, Montreal Canadiens and Pittsburgh Penguins, scoring 157 goals and 325 points in 774 career regular-season games. He was the first round 30th overall pick of the Kings in the 2012 NHL Draft.
Pearson won the 2014 Stanley Cup with the Kings, and has nine goals and 24 points through 59 career postseason contests, bringing some much-needed playoff experience to the young Sabres squad.
