Cody McCormick named as Beauts GM

The Buffalo Beauts have announced interim head coach Cody McCormick has the accepted the position of general manager with the team. According to the announcement, delivered via twitter, McCormick has lost the ‘interim’ tag and has been placed in the roles on a more permanent basis.

The move comes days after Nik Fattey reportedly resigned from his position as both Beauts GM and hockey operations manager at HarborCenter. There has been no official announcement regarding the resignation, however, both John Vogl and the Buffalo News have reported the story.

McCormick started the season as a skills coach with the Beauts, building a rapport with players during on-ice workouts. Players were supportive of McCormick’s promotion to interim head coach, reporting a good relationship and a positive atmosphere in the locker room.

McComick is the Beauts’ fourth general manager in the team’s history, and the third since Pegula Sports and Entertainment acquired the Beauts in late December of 2017. Buffalo has played well through each transition, posting a 17-5 record in the regular season and two playoff games in that period.

The team will take the ice on Saturday in its first matchup with the Metropolitan Riveters since losing 1-0 in the Isobel Cup championship. Puck drop is 1:30pm. Die by the Blade will have a preview of the matchup with complete coverage of the game to follow.
