With their sixth round pick, No. 151, the Buffalo Sabres have taken another high school forward, Cranbrook-Kingswood HS center Chris Brown.
Brown is the team’s second high school draftee this year, coming one round after Max Willman, and brings a pro hockey pedigree with him thanks to his father Doug, brother Patrick, and uncle Greg, who played for the Sabres in the early ’90’s.

There’s not a ton of info out there on Brown, but this scouting report from SBN College Hockey has a few interesting tidbits.
The youngest Brown with NHL hopes has put up gaudy offensive numbers against Michigan high school competition, but next year will get his first real test in the USHL with the Green Bay Gamblers.
If he has anywhere near the “it factor” of his brother Patrick or the ability to score at the NHL level like his father, he will make an NHL team very happy it selected him in the 2014 NHL Draft on Saturday.
With the Sabres having so many prospects in the system already and many more to come next year, Tim Murray seems to be using the later rounds to stash away promising high school prospects who might take three, four, or five more years to even sniff the NHL, giving the Sabres a bit more flexibility on how they want to construct their team and manage their entry level contracts.
Buffalo has one more pick at the beginning of the seventh round.
