Captain Corinne Buie returns to Beauts

Captain and two-time Isobel Cup Champion, Corrine Buie, has returned to Buffalo for her fourth season in blue; her fifth in the league. The Buffalo Beauts announced the signing this afternoon following the news that coach Pete Perram has joined the team behind the bench.

Buie is a logical first signing for the team, which always seems to be in a transitional period in one way or another. Each time, Buie has provided leadership in the dressing room; something that general manager Mandy Cronin recognizes. “I am so proud to have Corinne back for her fourth season in Buffalo,” Cronin said. “She has been an integral part of the organization and we are thrilled to have her wearing Beauts’ blue again.”

Buie’s role on the ice has varied in her time, but she has consistently been a steadfast, dependable forward, no matter where she is in the lineup. Buie has 16 goals and 16 assists in 48 games as a Beaut, and scored the game winning tally that secured the Cup for Buffalo in 2017. She is the only player that has appeared in all four NWHL championship games – five consecutive pro championships, dating back to her time with the Boston Blades of the CWHL. She is one of only three players to have her name on Isobel twice; all of them played with Buie in the 2017 win.

This is the team’s first signing of the season. Most of the 2018-19 Beauts are considered to be a part of the #ForTheGame movement, so it will be interesting to see where the roster grows from here.
