Buffalo Sabres vs. Toronto Maple Leafs Preseason Game Preview

The first of a home and home series against the Toronto Maple Leafs starts Friday night as the Sabres travel up the QEW to head to the Air Canada Center. The Sabres have played well in their first two preseason games, winning each game with a 3-1 victory.

According to Mike Harrington of the Buffalo News, the Sabres will go with Ryan Miller tonight while Jhonas Enroth will start tomorrow night. While the line combinations and exactly who is playing in the game isn’t known when this was written, with three games in three nights, we can expect a larger portion of prospects playing in these next three games. With the Americans camp set to open on the 26th, the Sabres will have to trim their roster to be able to get players to those camps so this weekend’s set of games will be the last chance for those prospects to get some game action.

The Maple Leafs have been very active in the preseason thus far as well with three games already this week. The Leafs have a 2-1 record in those three games, scoring a total of eight goals and allowing eight goals in those three games. The biggest name for Sabres fans to watch for is how Tim Connolly is playing with the Leafs. Connolly is expected to play in tonight’s game but should not be traveling to Buffalo for Saturday’s game, again according to Mike Harrington.

Game time is set for 7:00 and can be seen on MSG in Buffalo and Rochester and NHL Network across the rest of the country.
