The Washington Capitals forward projects as a bottom six forward
The Sabres finally made a trade, but it’s not one that we quite wanted. Buffalo’s roster is still missing that gritty third line center that we’ve been craving, but the longer this goes on the more we’re starting to think that Peyton Krebs is the one that’s been earmarked for that role.
General Manager Kevyn Adams moved one of his second rounders to the Washington Capitals for forward Beck Malenstyn. He’s looking a lot like a Zemgus Girgenssons replacement, with six goals and 21 points in 81 games. The 26-year-old was fifth among all NHL forwards in shorthanded ice time last season, with the RFA leading the Caps with 93 blocked shots.
