Buffalo Sabres Top 25 under 25: #24 Linus Weissbach

The Top 25 Under 25 is a collaboration by members of the Die By The Blade community. It was a combination of six staff writers and over 500 readers that ranked players under the age of 25 by September 1st, 2019. Each participant used their own metric of current ability and production to rank each player.

Coming in at number 24 on the Buffalo Sabres top 25 under 25 list is 2017 seventh-round pick Linus Weissbach. The Sabres have seemingly made a tradition of drafting Swedish born players, and Weissbach is another name that was added to the list.

Weissbach spent the last two seasons playing for the University of Wisconsin. He posted solid numbers in both seasons with 26 points in 34 games his freshman season, and 25 points in 27 games his sophomore season. He was also named to the B1G All-Rookie team in 2017-2018.

Entering his third season at the University of Wisconsin, Weissbach is an intriguing prospect to watch for the Sabres. It is no secret that Buffalo is devoid of scoring wingers, and while Weissbach is still likely a few years away from seeing NHL time, his continued development in a tough NCAA division should excite Sabres fans for what is to come.
