Buffalo Sabres Sign Brandon Biro

The Buffalo Sabres have signed forward Brandon Biro to a two-year, entry-level contract.

Biro joins the Sabres from the Penn State Nittany Lions, where he served as captain in his senior season. Overall, the 1998-born left winger accrued 116 points during his collegiate career, including 25 points in as many games in his senior season this year. He missed part of the season due to injury.

The Sherwood Park, Alberta native also previously played for the Spruce Grove Saints of the Alberta Junior Hockey League and has played in the Alberta Cup, Western Canada Cup and WJAC-19.

This season, he was part of a Penn State team that won the regular season championship. The Nittany Lions also won the Big Ten championship in his freshman year, and he finishes his collegiate career ranked near the top in PSU history in several statistics, including goals, assists and points.

Some Sabres fans may recognize Biro’s name, as he participated in Buffalo’s development camp in 2018. He was one of two Penn State players at that camp, alongside Brett Murray.
