Ryan Miller announces he’ll retire after this season

The Anaheim Ducks announced today through social media that former Buffalo Sabres goaltender Ryan Miller will retire after this season. Miller was the face of the Sabres franchise for roughly nine years before he was traded in 2015.

He was part of the clubs that made runs to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2006 and 2007. Miller won his only Vezina Trophy as a member of the team in 2010. That was also the year head led Team USA to the Gold Medal game in the Olympics in Vancouver.

Miller is arguably the second-best goaltender in Sabres history behind Dominik Hasek and gave fans a lot of good memories.

The Ducks put out a nice tribute video with their announcement.

The Sabres followed up with one of their own after the announcement. The video really brings home how long Miller was with the club and all of the great moments he was part of.
