Sabres Recall Linus Ullmark

The Buffalo Sabres announced this morning that they’ve recalled goaltender Linus Ullmark from the Rochester Americans.

The Amerks have a 22 point lead on the fifth-place team in the North Division with 14 games remaining. With Rochester in a comfortable playoff position at the moment, it’s likely Ullmark will spend some time with the Sabres.

Ullmark has 20 wins in 42 games played for the Amerks this season. To go along with that he has a 2.44 goals against average and .923 save percentage.

In his one start with the Sabres this season against the Columbus Blue Jackets, Ullmark, made 44 saves on 45 shots and picked up the win.

We’ll see how Housley rotates Ullmark in with Robin Lehner and Chad Johnson presumably healthy. We’ll get a better idea after practice today if this going to be an extended stay for Ullmark or they’re bringing him up for practice/precaution.
