Sabres re-sign Nic Deslauriers to two year extension

Tim Murray doesn’t want to work over the summer, apparently. With the announcement of the trade for Jimmy Vesey still piping hot, the Buffalo Sabres also announced that they’ve re-signed forward Nic Deslauriers to a two-year contract extension.

The former defenseman-turned-forward has become a solid fourth line energy player, and one of the team’s most physical players, pacing all Sabres in both hits and major penalties. He also set a new career high last year with six goals, and earned his keep on the team’s growing young roster.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but we’ll update this post once we know.

UPDATE: Looks like the terms of the deal are 2 years at $775,000 per season.
