The Buffalo Sabres announced Friday evening that the team has re-signed forward Jack Quinn to a two-year contract, which runs through the 2026-27 season. The deal is worth $3.375 million AAV – a sizable raise, as Quinn’s expiring contract carried an AAV of $1.71 million in the last three years.

Quinn’s relatively young NHL career has been plagued by injury in recent years. Prior to the 2023-24 season, Quinn suffered an Achilles injury that required surgery. That season also saw him suffer another lower-body injury, which also required surgery. After being drafted eighth overall in 2020, Quinn joined the Sabres for two games in the 2021-22 season before making the full-time jump to the NHL. To date, he’s played 178 games and put up 97 points (39 goals, 58 assists).

With Quinn locked up for the next few years, the Sabres’ attention turns to this weekend’s draft, as well as their remaining free agents. Bowen Byram is set to be an RFA, but it certainly sounds like he’ll be long gone from the Sabres before that happens.

Other NHL players set to be RFAs include Ryan McLeod and Devon Levi, along with Tyson Kozak. Ryan Johnson, Alexander Kisakov, Jacob Bernard-Docker, Bennett MacArthur and Ty Tullio are other pending RFAs in the Sabres system.
