Sabres Re-Sign Corey Tropp To One Year Deal

The Buffalo Sabres announced today that they’ve reached a one year deal with RFA Corey Tropp.

Tropp will use this one year deal to prove that he’s fully recovered from the serious knee injury he suffered in the first game of the year that kept him out for almost the entire 2012-13 season. If he proves that he’s healthy, and effective, as an NHL player, expect a long-term deal to follow next summer.

Tropp has been penciled in by most fans to a bottom-six role in Buffalo next season, and will join the likes of Patrick Kaleta, Steve Ott, Brian Flynn, and Mike Weber in the ranks of “hard working guys with enough talent to be effective.” Financial details of his one year agreement have not yet been made public.

With Tropp now re-signed, the only remaining RFA for the team to sign is Cody Hodgson, and seeing as how we jinxed Tropp’s contract with our post yesterday, Hodgson’s re-signing might not be too far off.

So Sabres fans, happy with the re-signing? What do you expect next season out of Corey Tropp?
