Ah, Monday again. A new week.

We’re just over a month out from the Buffalo Sabres’ preseason schedule opening, and less than that until the annual Prospects Challenge. Hockey is right around the corner. To me, it always seems like the Erie County Fair marks the official beginning of the end of summer. Once the Fair is over, that’s when it’s time to start really thinking about fall and what it brings, whether that’s kids starting school or what. Here in Buffalo, the opening of Mayer Brothers Cider Mill last week also brings the idea of autumn to the surface. We’re not in peak season yet, but man, there’s nothing like a good apple cider slushie to get you in the mood for fall.

This past weekend also marked the one-year anniversary of the passing of Rick Jeanneret. It’s amazing how it feels like that year was so incredibly short, yet also so long. How has it been a year? How has it *only* been a year? Either way, we’ll never forget the legend.

Have a good week, folks.
