Oh what’s this, the faintest flicker of hope in the dark world that is Buffalo sports? There has been a culture of failure ingrained in the Buffalo Sabres organization for a long time now, both on and off the ice. Little might have changed in the corridors of power, but there have been some roster additions that are definitely affecting the on-ice product in a positive manner.

Alex Lyon is undoubtedly the team MVP early on with some excellent on-ice performances where he’s been keeping us in games long enough for the offense to kick in, which it has in a big way in recent games driven by Zach ‘Taz’ Benson and Josh Doan-er Kebab.

The question is whether the Sabres can continue to be consistent with those performances, and that starts this week with four divisional clashes.

Mon, Oct 20th, 7:30pm EST – Buffalo Sabres (2-3-0) at Montreal Canadiens (4-2-0)
Wed, Oct 22nd, 7:30pm EST – Buffalo Sabres vs Detroit Red Wings (5-1-0)
Fri, Oct 24th, 7:30pm EST – Buffalo Sabres vs Toronto Maple Leafs (3-2-1)
Sat, Oct 25th, 7pm EST – Buffalo Sabres at Toronto Maple Leafs

The Rochester Americans are continuing their win one, lose one sequence but with three games this week, which way will they split it? Devon Levi has won both games he started while Alexandar Georgiev was very good in the opening stanza at the unbeaten Crunch before letting in three goals.

Wed, Oct 22nd, 7:05pm EST – Rochester Amerks (2-2-0-0) vs Syracuse Crunch (4-0-0-0)
Fri, Oct 24th, 7:05pm EST – Rochester Amerks vs Laval Rocket (3-1-0-0)
Sat, Oct 25th, 7pm EST – Rochester Amerks at Cleveland Monsters (2-1-0-1)
