The Sabres win streak came to a bit of an ignominious end, but it was no surprise that they lost a game they were outworked in. That is the mantra in the NHL nowadays, and even more so in the parity-laden Eastern Conference where there seems to be very little between the bulk of the teams, and the hardest working sides seem to be the ones going home with the points.
January will be the make-or-break month for the Sabres with a large number of division and conference games on the schedule, and none possibly more important than the three games against Montreal. It all starts tomorrow though with a home tilt against the Canucks, and a big opportunity to show if Buffalo has the resiliency to bounce back from defeat.
