The summer has been a bit too quiet if you ask Buffalo Sabres fans who were expecting/hoping/praying for their team to be a lot more active in the NHL Draft, free agency and associated trade market.
Columbus Blue Jackets forward Yegor Chinakhov has apparently asked for a trade with the Sabres reportedly one of the teams that has enquired about the right winger.
Buffalo asked to (surprisingly) take Bowen Byram to salary arbitration, but then also announced that the player had signed a two-year deal to stay with the Sabres. The move doesn’t necessarily limit his ‘tradeability’ for General Manager Kevyn Adams, but it does leave the Sabres defense in pretty solid shape.
Aside from that, it’s all been very, very quiet around the team or any more additions to the roster.
