We are into the quiet days of the summer, as far as hockey is concerned. And concerned is the right term to use here as the Buffalo Sabres continue to be quiet in terms of roster construction for next season. That’s not to say there is not something brewing behind the scenes, but it’s certainly not being spoken out loud if there are more pieces waiting to fall.
Meanwhile the Pittsburgh Penguins continue to make some interesting moves as everyone’s continuing to work out whether they are rebuilding, retooling, or somewhere in between.
Also, as of last Monday 11 players have filed for NHL salary arbitration, with hearings to run from July 20-Aug. 4.
