The new year has brought us no respite, at least as far as the fate of the Buffalo Sabres goes. A short winning streak was brought to a grinding halt as soon as the competition level got ratcheted up a notch, and the same old failures that saw the Sabres slumping have come back to roost again.
Buffalo are back on the Eastern seaboard this week taking on two conference rivals before hosting the Kraken.

Unlike the parent club though, the Amerks are now on a six-game win streak at the top of the North Division.
