Marcus Davidsson is looking for a new place to play again. After leaving Vaxjo of the SHL early in the season, he has now departed Vastervik of HockeyAllsvenskan. Davidsson confirmed this in a conversation with Hockey News SE out of Sweden.

“It was probably best for both parties. I do not feel that I ended up really right with my game in Vastervik and had a hard time getting it loose, the production did not come as you wanted and then you are not the help you would be for the team. So both me and Vastervik felt that it was good if I could find something else and come to another club.”
Davidsson only recorded one goal and five points in 23 games playing for Vastervik in Sweden’s tier-two pro league.
As a 2017 second-round pick of the Sabres, his exclusive rights with the team expire on June 1st if he’s not signed to an entry-level contract. It’ll be interesting to see if he finds another team in Sweden or if the Sabres step in and bring him to North America.
It may not be on an entry-level deal, but could an AHL contract. This is would be a similar path to the one they took with Brett Murray.
