What to Watch

Sheary Week-to-Week & Injury Updates

Forward Conor Sheary has been downgraded and is now week-to-week with an upper body injury. This likely means that Evan Rodrigues will slot into the lineup tonight, and the Sabres will recall a forward from Rochester (perhaps Tage Thompson or Curtis Lazar) ahead of their upcoming Western road trip.

Elsewhere, Brandon Montour is still expected to miss about three weeks with a hand injury, while Zach Bogosian and Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen remain out indefinitely.

Three-Game Homestand

Tonight’s game opens a three-game homestand for the Sabres. Following this evening’s game, the Florida Panthers come to town on Friday night, followed by the Dallas Stars on October 14. The homestand leads into a three-game road trip as the Sabres visit Anaheim, Los Angeles and San Jose.

Every Point Matters!

The Sabres have garnered at least a point in all three games so far, though they were admittedly quite lucky to steal a point Monday night in Columbus. Tonight’s game against a division rival is a big one, and the Sabres need to perform better than they did on Monday if they hope to skate off with one – or ideally, two – points.
