Sabres Keep It Close in Loss to Rangers
Reinhart scores, Luukkonen sharp once more
Score: Sabres 1 | Rangers 3
Shots: BUF 37 | NYR 41
Sabres Goals: Sam Reinhart (22)
Rangers Goals: Brendan Smith (5), Alexis Lafrenière (10), Mika Zibanejad (20)
Plus-1: Reinhart’s Hot
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: Sam Reinhart is on fire. With a goal tonight, he’s now put up 14 points in 15 games in the month of April. He’s also reached the 22-goal mark on the season and has showcased his incredible skill all season long. Just imagine what he could have done if Ralph Krueger hadn’t been behind the bench for a huge portion of the season....

Plus-2: Luukkonen Still Looks Good
With a lot of uncertainty around the Sabres’ net minding heading into the final stretch of this season and beyond, Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen has been a bright spot in his limited ice time thus far. That continued on Tuesday night, as he put up a 38-save performance in the loss. Meanwhile, Carter Hutton still isn’t ready to return but hasn’t been ruled out for the season just yet, while Linus Ullmark is “not in the picture.”

Obviously, this season has been anything but normal, but it still feels like it’s flown by. The Sabres now have just six games and less than two weeks remaining in the season. They’ll kick it off with a pair of games against the Boston Bruins on Thursday (7 pm) and Saturday (1 pm). A home double-header against the New York Islanders follows, with a road series in Pittsburgh rounding out the season.
