Jack Quinn will miss the rest of the season due to an injury

The Buffalo Sabres announced today that 2020 first-round pick Jack Quinn will miss the remainder of the season.

The Sabres indicate that the recovery time will be six weeks. This injury has been one he has battled through all season, according to Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News.

It has been a wild season for the rookie forward. After being drafted the expectation was he would play in the OHL for Ottawa 67’s this season. Unfortunately, the OHL never had a season and he was forced into the AHL playing for the Rochester Amerks.

He played well overall in a league he probably wasn’t ready for. Quinn scored 9 points in 15 games for the Amerks this season.

Next season will be interesting for him. Quinn will be 20-years-old before next season starts. Thus he’ll be eligible to play in the AHL next season and won’t need to return to juniors if he doesn’t make the Sabres roster.
