Sabres get back in the win column against the Kings

Final Score: Sabres 3 | Kings 2

Shots on Goal: Sabres 28| Kings 17

Sabres Goal Scorers: Rasmus Ristolainen (3), Marco Scandella (3), and Victor Olofsson (16) (ENG)

Kings Goal Scorers: Adrian Kempe (7) and Dustin Brown (8)

Plus 1: The streak lives…sort of

The official point streak for Jack Eichel may be over, but the personal point streak continues.  Eichel picked up a secondary assist on Victor Olofsson’s empty net goal late in the third period. The personal point streak is now up to 18 games.

Plus 2: Offense from the defense

Some much needed secondary scoring came from the blue line last night. Ristolainen scored his third of the season in the second period by finding a loose puck off a rebound from a Jeff Skinner shot to tie the game. Marco Scandella added his third of the season as well in the second period to give the Sabres the lead for good. His point shot went in off the leg of Kings defenseman Drew Doughty.

Plus 3: Lazar fits in on the LOG line

The Sabres fourth line put together another solid game last night, but it was with Curtis Lazar in the middle between Kyle Okposo and Zemgus Girgensons. Johan Larsson is out until after the Holiday break with an injury and Lazar did a great job filling in for him yesterday.
