Buffalo Sabres European Vacation: Ehrhoff, Vanek Thriving

Christian Ehrhoff is the most experienced Sabre in Europe, having already finished nine games for Krefeld Pinguine and taking a year off after college for a backpacking trip (Ed note: I don’t think this is entirely accurate.) In those nine contests, Ehrhoff has 3 goals and 3 assists and has already racked up an impressive 14 penalty minutes.

Thomas Vanek has played five games for the Graz 99ers of the Austrian League, and has the honorable distinction of being a point per game player, with 1 goal and 4 assists in his 5 tilts. In related news, if anyone can figure out how to translate these Austrian game recaps, please email me.

The Tylers, on the other hand, have just started their European careers. Tyler Myers only played one game for Klagenfurter AC (still love that name) after missing his connecting flight to Austria. He is currently pointless. Much like the NHL. Tyler Ennis has played twice for Langnau, and has one assist.

Andrej Sekera has also just started his time with HC Slovan Bratislava, having finished his third game with just one assist thus far.

The Grammatically Awkward Google Translate Paragraph Of The Week:

The Styrian also expressed with a final offensive on the connection, but the goal came on the other side: with a double majority kept the Hungarians have the patience to push Eric Johansson just had.  But just 36 seconds later, the guests could write by short-hander, as Olivier Latendresse recovered a precise diagonal pass from Vanek. – Graz 99ers website.
