The Sabres announce Ralph Krueger has tested positive for Covid-19

The situation keeps getting worse for the Buffalo Sabres and the league for that matter. Today, the club announced that head coach Ralph Krueger has tested positive for Covid-19 and will immediately enter the league’s Covid protocol.

Krueger is 61-years-old and you hope that he’ll recover quickly from this to get back behind the Sabres bench when the team resumes playing.

The neglect on behalf of the NHL with this situation becomes more frustrating by the day. The New Jersey Devils number grew to 17 players on the NHL protocol list as of yesterday.

We’re now seeing reports over the last 24 hours of Sabres players expressing their concerns about playing on Sunday to the NHLPA.

Whether it be the Devils or someone in the league office, there should be consequences for this type of failure. The league appears to be on the verge of losing control of the Covid situation around the league. Four teams now have their season on pause, including the Minnesota Wild that added six players to the list yesterday.

We’ll see if any more players are added to the list later this afternoon when the league releases the update.
