Beauts GM Nik Fattey Resigns

Reports have been circulating that Buffalo Beauts general manager/interim assistant coach Nik Fattey has resigned from his responsibilities with his team.

The news broke on Tuesday evening when The Athletic’s John Vogl tweeted the following:

The move comes less than a month after Fattey relieved head coach Ric Seiling and assistant coach Craig Muni of their duties. Seiling has served as the team’s general manager  for two seasons prior to Fattey’s appointment.

Fattey worked closely with Pegula Sports and Entertainment to ease the acquisition of the Beauts by the local sports juggernaut. In his time as GM, Fattey signed some of the biggest names in women’s hockey, including Canadian legend Shannon Szabados and gold medalist Dani Cameranesi. Fattey himself acted as head coach for one game as current bench boss Cody McCormick was previously committed.

Requests to the organization for context or comments have been unanswered at this time.

It’s been a busy week for the Beauts, who also saw the departure of veteran defender Sarah Edney. Things do not slow down for the team as they prepare to face reigning Isobel Cup Champions, the Metropolitan Riveters on Saturday afternoon.

Die by the Blade will continue to monitor the situation and report as more information becomes available.
