Bolden and Chesson to compete in Aurora Games

Buffalo Beauts player Blake Bolden and Lisa Chesson have been chosen to compete in the inaugural Aurora Games in Albany, NY. The Aurora Games is an all-women’s sports and entertainment festival which will begin with opening ceremonies on August 20 and end on August 25.

The festival will feature gymnastics, figure skating, basketball, and beach volleyball, and table tennis, alongside the ice hockey. More than 175 athletes are expected to take part

Team America, represented in part by Bolden and Chesson, will take on Team World in the ice hockey competition

The two Beauts all-stars will be joined by Hannah Brandt, Shiann Darkangelo, Molly Engstrom, Tori Hickel, Zoe Hickel, Rachel Llanes, Taylor Marchin, Brooke Webster and Maddie Woo. Women’s hockey fans will recognize Nicole Bullo, Tanja Eisenschmid, Jennifer Harss, Yuka Hirano, Akane Hosoyamuda, Venla Hovi, Aina Mizukami, Isa Rahunen, Annina Rajahuhta, Lara Stadler, Rebecca Stenberg, Susanna Tapani and Haruka Toko, who comprise Team World.

Legendary coaching icon Margaret “Digit” Murphy will coach the American squad in the festival. Former South Korea women’s national ice hockey team coach and two-time NCAA Division I National Champion Sarah Murray will lead Team World.

The schedule indicates there will be two practices, a meet and greet, a scrimmage, culminating in the game which will take place on August 23.
