Rochester broke a two-game losing streak while netminder Malcolm Subban upped his personal winning streak to six in this tense one played in Syracuse.
There was a wild mini-brawl after time expired. Four fighting majors were given out, and a total of 74 penalty minutes were assessed.
Subban earned 17 of those minutes. Five came from a fighting major. Two were for unsportsmanlike conduct. And ten were for a secondary altercation misconduct.
Before getting involved in the melee, Subban stopped 41 of the 44 shots he faced.
The Amerks scored the game’s first three goals, but needed a late Jeremy Davies tally to earn maximum points. Davies scored a little over two minutes after the Crunch tied the game, 3-3.
Ethan Prow (2) and Brett Murray staked the visitors to their early advantage.
Linus Weissbach (2), Brandon Biro, Mason Jobst, Lukas Rousek, Michael Mersch, and Anders Bjork had assists.
Third star: Ethan Prow
