- Receive 2024 4th round pick from Colorado for salary retention
- Receive 2023 4th round pick from Toronto for salary retention

Re-sign:
- Luukkonen 1 year, $975K
- Bryson 3 years, $1.5M
- Ruotsalainen 1 year, $975K
- Pysyk 1 year, $1M

Free Agents
- Ville Husso 3 years, $5M

- Johan Larsson 2 years $1.5M

Trades:
- Victor Olofsson and 2022 3rd round pick (Buffalo) to Anaheim for Maxime Comtois
- 2023 2nd (Philadelphia), 2023 4th (Toronto) and Anders Bjork to Montreal for Jeff Petry
- Future considerations to Dallas for Ben Bishop

Draft: Sabres have a lot of picks (3 x 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 2 x 4th, 3 x 5th, 2 x 6th, 7th) and they should either make them, or use them to trade up in the draft.

A rough, early look at what that could be, by using FC's draft simulator, which admittedly uses an older prospect ranking. I tried to keep it realistic, tweaked some picks due to positioning (they still have the Vegas pick as 31), and not take anyone when they certainly wouldn't be available.

2022 Draft (only went to round 3)

1-4) Logan Cooley C USNTDP

1-17) Cutter Gauthier LW USNTDP (Vegas pick)

1-30) Elias Salomonsson D Skelleftea (Florida pick)

2-36) Jimmy Snuggerud RW USNTDP

3-91) Noah Warren D Gatineau (Minnesota pick)

Line-up:
Skinner - Thompson - Tuch
Comtois - Mittelstadt - Cozens
Quinn - Krebs - Peterka
Asplund - Larsson - Okposo
x Girgensons

Dahlin - Bryson
Power - Petry
Samuelsson - Jokiharju
x Fitzgerald, Pysyk

Husso, UPL (Bishop on IR)

Overall, it's not a huge leap forward but instead keeps development of the young kids on track without mortgaging the future. This draft also adds some more prospects to an already strong group, and especially adds Cooley, who could be a future #1 center. This plan also doesn't rush players who aren't ready, and adds in a little grit. Overall, a good step forward for 2022-23.
