I thought I'd at least post the NHL's statement concerning the invasion of Ukraine.
"The National Hockey League condemns Russia's invasion of Ukraine and urges a peaceful resolution as quickly as possible. Effective immediately, we are suspending our relationships with our business partners in Russia and we are pausing our Russian language social and digital media sites. In addition, we are discontinuing any consideration of Russia as a location for any future competitions involving the NHL.
We also remain concerned about the well-being of the players from Russia, who play in the NHL on behalf of their NHL Clubs, and not on behalf of Russia. We understand they and their families are being placed in an extremely difficult position."
I don't mean to be obtuse because there are millions of lives being affected about the invasion and I'm praying for a peaceful and quick solution. One in which Ukraine maintains its independence. It will take years for people to put back together their lives. It will take years for them to return to some normalcy. But, I'm writing this as a means only to spur some light conversation and not am not immune to their suffering. Please know that I am in pain for their situation.
Having said all of this, how do you see this man-made disaster affecting the NHLs and team's relationship with Russia? And, how does this ultimately affect the future draft and current draft prospects? How do you see this playing out in the short term?
Thank you for responding. I'm praying for the Ukrainian people.
